This weekend the Flower Parade will take place for the 71st time! This annual event is always a big event in the Bulb Region. There will be a 40 kilometer long route with the most beautiful trucks lined with, guess what, flowers! The cars are 'stung' three days prior to the parade. Many hundreds of volunteers roll up their sleeves to place the flowers in and on the wagons.
Every year again, the Corso commission can count on many volunteers. From decorating the trucks to traffic controllers. All these people make it possible to let around one million people enjoy the beautiful parade.
The starting signal will be given on Friday evening (April 20) at 9 pm in Noordwijkerhout. From there the parade drives through the village with lots of lights on the cars!
On Saturday morning at 9.30 the 2.5-kilometer-long procession departs from Teylingen to go to Lisse, Hillegom, Bennebroek, Heemstede and arrives in Haarlem around 9 pm.
The theme of 2018 is culture, so the around 20 trucks will also be linked to this theme!
Everything is running according to schedule. The volunteers are eager to get started and the flowers are doing well! This about the flower wasn’t every year the case. In very cold pre-flower-seasons, it has been the case that the flowers had to be brought to the parade from other countries! But fortunately this year, it’s going very well with those beautiful sun rays!
Because we assume that you all would like to rent a bike from Rent a Bike van Dam, before or after you go and view the Flower Parade: the procession drives at 15.30 past Keukenhof!
Plan everything well and avoid the route by car. This way you’ll avoid missing the Flower Parade because you are in the famous 'Corso-Traffic-Jam'!
Flower fields update
We are hitting the 20 degree! And that can also be seen in the flower fields. It has really started now! Along all routes you can see the beautiful colors of daffodils, hyacinths and finally also the tulips! Cycle along our routes to discover them yourself!
